ALASKAN SPECIAL

The Alaskan Special is just that… extraordinarily special. It highlights the beauty of Alaska by featuring the various woods found here. The wood is rescued from firewood piles or during the land clearing process. Some of it comes from my own property, salvaged from deadfall. Its uniqueness enhanced through stabilization. All of it beautiful, yet only the best of the very best becomes part of an Alaskan Special. 

This is a three piece takedown featuring a time tested two pin, single bolt attachment system. I reinforce every riser with my tough core components of either fiberglass or G10 for rigidity and strength. 

Mountain Man bows are all designed to shoot off the shelf. I cut the site window past center. The arrow shelf is radiused along with the site window at a point directly above the deepest part of your grip. This helps minimize errors in your draw cycle, promoting accuracy.

Any woods needing stabilized for durability go through my stabilization process. I infuse them with resin and cure them in an oven. The end product is dense, hard, and highly durable, with a striking beauty that transforms each bow into a piece of art.

Standard limbs are black glass with an action wood or bamboo core. The action wood I use is a laminated yellow birch that’s dyed, giving many different color choices. An upgrade to clear glass is available. You can also upgrade to carbon.

Alaskan Special limb tips are fast flight compatible. You can enhance them with overlays of any Alaskan wood. Or kick it up a notch by upgrading to Alaskan moose antler, Alaskan caribou antler or Alaskan dall sheep horn for a truly spectacular look.

Every Alaskan Special bow has its own serial number, is individually signed and comes with a two-year warranty to the original buyer.
